4-19-2013

Finally got out for some solar imaging and a broadcast on NSN.  Had to setup in my swampy driveway instead of trying to shovel 2 feet of wet heavy snow.  200 frames stacked for this one.

4-13-2013

Mostly cloudy and windy today, got lucky and caught 15 minutes between clouds after setting up, stacked 142 frames out of 350.  And, for the people asking how big the Neximage 5 camera is, heres the comparison to a Miller Lite can, sorry, couldn't find a better can to use, threw out the empty pop cans already......

Solar 4-6-2013

Quite breezy and windy, only got to stack 61 out of nearly 600 frames captured today so the image came out a little noisy, but it was the best I could do with it.  Not totally dissatisfied with it though.

Solar 4-2-2013

There's a little black spot on the sun today...... sorry, had to say it....

Experiments from 4-1-2013

First is M42 shot with the neximage, 10 frames using 4x4 binning at 8 seconds, stacked in Registax 5 using a dark frame taken at the same settings.  Next shot is my first attempt at Jupiter using the R80, 845 frames stacked in Registax 5, levels adjusted in GIMP, cropped and resized in Irfanview.

Solar 4-1-2013

No joke, I was busy today.  Got in a total of 3 hours of broadcasting on NSN and got yet another good solar image.  Now to get rid of the dust bunnies on the barlow.......
