Rather Warm Today

Didn't stay out long today, about an hour and a half, 85f felt like 90f, but few clouds and a light breeze.  Not much to see with 2371 going off the west limb, but a new spot just peaking around the corner.  Had to blow out the middle of the sun a bit with the stretching to bring out the limb details.

Nice seeing and sundogs for the solstice.

Had a nice enjoyable but warm fathers day/solstice broadcast on Nsn.  Started out very clear and turned into thin clouds, and the nice 22.5 degree arc came out against the clouds, but I still had a reasonable image through the clouds.  Got to watch the lightbridge from the fall off of an m1 flare slowly fade down as the goes chart ever so gradually dropped.

Almost forgot how.....

Been so long since I had decent weather on a weekend to do some imaging and broadcasting on NSN, I was surprised I remembered how to put things together..... Did have a big dust mote on the sensor that actually stacked out of my images, but was quite noticeable in the live images near the top left of the sun.  Unfortunately not much to see with one decent spot and a little bitty triple spot active region, that in the closeup cropped image required some interesting level curve adjustments to make it stand out, but its there.

Another Month, and Not Much To See

Yup, been another month with our winter weather, but got out in 35f weather and little wind.  Unfortunately, solar activity has been dropping so not much for spots right now, just one active region, just as the new region came into view the older spots had left, just leave some faculae left as evidence of their existence.

Nearly A Month Again!

Took nearly an hour and a half to get set up and get everything working again, due to a bad handcontroler cable giving me issues, along with frozen down extension cords.  Had to wait for the clouds to clear a bit, but still had some thin ones, got a quick capture and really short broadcast on NSN before the sun dropped into the trees.  Boy I can't wait for summer when the sun is higher in the sky.

At least I remembered what to do......

It's been close to two months since I got to do any imaging.  Had an early day of work with not much to do with rather cold weather.  0f with 25mph winds so I set up near the front door and ran the long cables outside so I could sit where it was warm.  With the average transparency and wind the images are slightly noisy, but not nearly as bad as I was expecting.  I just had to be patient to wait for the gaps between trees, so one image has some shadowing from a tree branch that didn't totally stack out of the image.

Thats a big ass sunspot

AR 2192 is actually naked eye visible, just wish my barlowed shot would have came out better, the wind started kicking up about the time I took the captured so it came out a bit noisy.
